Filipino Technopreneur Named as Eisenhower Fellowships Douglas Dillon Named Fellow

CEO of Filipino IT Company Receives “Douglas Dillon Fellow” Recognition

Stephanie Caragos, CEO and President of Syntactics Inc. from Cagayan de Oro City-Philippines, receives the “Douglas Dillon Fellow” recognition at the conclusion of the Eisenhower Fellowships (EF) 2016 Multi Nation Program. Instituted in 1996 with Ambassador Dillon’s gift to the EF endowment, it is a special award given to a Fellow who combines private enterprise and public service. This recognition is annually given to one among all fellows who take their fellowship during that year, across all the world and other fellow cohorts.

According to the EF guidelines, the confluence of their vision and accomplishments with the Trustee’s values, interests, and leadership are the basis of recipients selection. The trustees chose the recipients at the conclusion of the Fellows’ programs. This is so that the process may be informed by several months of direct contact with prospective awardees. The senior staff to the President of EF does the selections. This is based upon the performance and promise of all Eisenhower Fellows programmed in a given year, whether they be overseas Fellows who have come to the U.S. or Americans who have gone abroad.

Previous recipients of the Douglas Dillon Fellow award include:

  • 2011 recipient: B. Rajsekhar from India
  • 2012 recipient: Faik Tunay from Turkey
  • 2013 recipient: Jeff Frazier from the United States (Raleigh-Durham, NC)
  • 2014 recipient: Hugo Alconada from Argentina
  • 2015 recipient: Thiago Toscano from Brazil

Now a full-pledged fellow, she received the certificate from Eisenhower Fellowships chairman General Colin Powell himself. She also received the EF pin from Governor Christie Whitman.

Quoting her very words, “My very own Eisenhower Fellowships pin. It started with a key to the Eisenhower Fellowships door as a symbol of fellowship for life and now we have our pin with the symbols for book for knowledge, torch for enlightenment and olive branch for peace. The real work is about to begin.”

For other awards and recipients, the EF website has already published them on their list of Sponsored Fellowships.
